In the age when days were simple and joyous, while at the same time, cruel and unkind. When love was a dervish whirl of hormones and our “philosophical discussions” and life choices were attributed to that still-developing frontal lobe. When rejection from the boy whom you actually thought was worth your affections felt like a decapitation. When you found friends in the most unlikely of places.
When owning a digital camera of 5.1MP and/or a camera phone was a huge deal. When strolling around the school meant more than what it actually meant. When you realized that doing an all-nighter cramming is not worth the terrible test performance the morning after. When failure in Math 3, or any other subject for that matter, was actually a wake-up call not to let nasty rumours and false accusations take over your life.When you realize that being different isn’t so bad. When you’ve realized who you really are and what you really stand for.
Each photo tells a story from times gone. But these stories never die. These stories from our past, no matter hard how we try to bury them in 2TB hard drives and cloud storage never to be accessed again, these are the foundations upon which our present is built upon. In the end, these are the days we celebrate for without which we wouldn’t be the same people we are today.
And yes, despite all the craziness and the hardships I’m thankful and lucky enough to have my teenage experiences moulded by the PSHS education.
